A great teacher, patriot and visionary Shri Shankar Dinkar alias Bhayyaji Kane laid the foundation principles of Purva Seema Vikas Pratishthan (PSVP) in 1971. He brought tribal children from remote hilly areas of Manipur (North-East India) to Maharashtra for better education. This work continued for more than two decades. With his efforts more than 300 children completed their education and are excelling in their careers. Late Bhayyaji’s colleagues & students were inspired to carry this work forward and established PSVP as a trust in 1986.
Along with Bhayyaji, was a 12-year-old boy who with Bhayyaji’s encouragement, stayed in the small village near Myanmar border. He grew up with the villagers, while their children left with Bhayyaji to study in Maharashtra. Since then, he has been working tirelessly to continue the legacy of Bhayyaji and is currently the Secretary and Trustee of Purva Seema Vikas Pratishthan, Shri. Jaywant Kondvilkar.
